Bhupen birthday
Shillong Assamese Ladies’ Welfare Club, on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of (L) Dr Bhupen Hazarika will organise a tree plantation programme on September 8 at 10 am at Assam Club, Laban followed by lighting of lamp in the evening on the club premises.
DERT programme
The Directorate of Educational Research and Training will organise a programme for implementation of inclusive education for disabled at secondary stage (IEDSS) Scheme on Friday in the office of DERT at 2 pm.
Felicitation
The Geetali Soci-Cultural Club will felicitate four distinguished personalities – Sunirmal Dutta Choudhury (Literature), Dr W Kharshiing (Medicine), Dr Parimal Bhattacharjee (Sports) and Mihir K Chaudhuri (Education) – for their contributions in their respective fields at a felicitation programme ‘Pride of Shillong’ on Sunday at 5 pm at the Bangiya Sahitya Parishad. Mawprem MLA Manas Chaudhuri will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
