HSPDP pays tribute to Hopingstone on death anniversary

NONGSTOIN: The fifth death anniversary of former MLA Hopingstone Lyngdoh was observed by the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), Nongstoin Area Unit, at the party office at Nongstoin on Saturday.
State’s PHE Minister Samlin Malngiang, MDC, Mairang constituency, Batskhem Ryntathiang, MDC, Mawkynrew constituency, Martle N Mukhim, former MLA Witing Mawsor, Diosstarness Jyndiang, and former MDC L.G Nongsiej, among other dignitaries, were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, PHE Minister Malngiang said that the death of Lyngdoh has been a great loss to the HSPDP as well as the entire state.
“It is our duty as legislators and party workers to follow-up on the issues that were taken up by late Lyngdoh,” Malngiang said.
As the chief organizer of the party, Malngiang also urged the leaders and members to strengthen the HSPDP in West Khasi Hills district.
Other speakers on the occasion recalled the work that late Lyngdoh had done for the people, especially those residing in the areas bordering Assam, and also his contributions towards Meghalaya attaining statehood.
Lyngdoh’s death anniversary was also observed at Mawkyllei and Langpih in West Khasi Hills district, with floral tribute laid in Mawkyllei cemetery.
