Faculty, scholars of NEHU feature in global report

SHILLONG: Articles by faculty member and scholars of Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), has been prominently featured in the World Gastronomy Institute Global Report 2020 – A Gastronomic Planet.
The report contains four articles from NEHU, including one by Head of Department Dr Saurabh Kumar Dixit on Tea Tourism in Meghalaya.
Articles by three research scholars, Hakamelamphylla Mawroh (on Impact of Globalisation on Khasi Foods), Sabrina Lyngdoh (on Cultural Reflections of Khasi Cuisine), and Firsterson Lawriniang (on Use of Phan Saw: Red Potato in Khasi Foods), have also been included in the report.
The World Gastronomy Institute (WGI) is a transnational NGO with Consultative Status, accredited by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Collaborating Entity of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Collaborator and a member of the UNITWIN Network of the UNESCO Chair on Food, Culture and Development UOC based in Madrid, Spain.
The report is written by agro-food experts from all corners of the globe, composing a global vision of the Gastronomic Tourism sector in the world.
The report reflects different cultural and technical aspects from disciplines as diverse and complementary as Anthropology, Tourism, Technology, Heritage, Marketing, Education, Institutional, Hospitality, or Culinary Arts.
