Lecture to be delivered
Navin Chawla, former Chief Election Commissioner will deliver a speech on ‘Urgency of electoral reforms in India’ on September 10 at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture at 5pm.
Meeting
The Dorbar pyllun of the members of the Meghalaya Mine Owners & Exporters’ Association (MMOEA), will hold a meeting on September 14 at Nongumsur Community Hall at 11am hold a discussion on the works pertaining to the association.
Export resumes
The export of limestone from Dawki which was disrupted for the last 15 days, has resumed from Saturday. The Chief Adviser of War Jaintia Limestone Miners Association, Dolly Khonglah said that export resumed due to the intervention of Forest Minister Prestone Tynsong and State forest officials.
UN Session
The Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council Secretary General Dino D. G. Dympep will attend the 21st United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council month long regular session from September 10 and will also participate in the International Nelson Mandela Day to be held on September 21 at the invitation of the Government of South Africa to be held at the UN Headquarter in Geneva.
