The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (DBT-IBSD),
Shillong, on Monday distributed the institute-made surface disinfectant to
Carmel School, Sadew Village, in the presence of the principal and the
teaching staff along with the scientific staff of IBSD, Meghalaya.

razed to the ground the houses in two villages falling under Ranikor

Forest Minister James Sangma flags off three wildlife rescue vehicles in the
presence of Chief Conservator of Forest, BK Lyngwa, and senior officials in the city on Monday. The department procured the vehicles from the sanction received from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change under Project Elephant. The vehicles, which are equipped with tranquilisers and PA system, would be used to rescue animals. Out of the three vehicles, one will be deployed in Tura area, another two in Balpakram Reserve and Khasi Hills, respectively. The target of the Forest department is to procure 15 such vehicles for the state. (ST)
