SHILLONG: Toughening its stand against the Government, the Federation of All Meghalaya Ad Hoc Secondary Teachers Association (FAMASTA) has threatened to intensify its agitations if the government fails to fulfill the Association’s long-pending demands.

The three-day ‘pen down’ strike called by the FAMASTA, meanwhile, concluded here on Wednesday.

It may be mentioned that the FAMASTA has been demanding upgradation of all the ad hoc schools to deficit system.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the president of FAMASTA, B Kharumnuid said, “If the Government fails in fulfilling our demands, the Association will adopt other means of protest like mass casual leave on September 27 and 28, followed by hunger strikes, boycott of MBOSE duties and other Governmental duties which are allotted to the Ad hoc secondary teachers.”

Meanwhile, the Khasi Jaintia Higher Secondary Ad Hoc Teachers’ Association (KJHSATA) has also issued a two-week deadline to the State Government to fulfill their long pending demands.

In a statement, the KJHSATA threatened to go on an agitational path if its demands are not met by September 28.
