VDP formed
The Village Defence Party (VDP) of Village Umsaitsning Lad Mawrong was formed on December 12, a statement issued here, said. In view of the influence of many “anti-social activities” in the village areas and to keep vigil, the VDP was formed, in the presence of village Headman F Nongrum and Officer in Charge of Umsning Police Out Post, W Suting with Tipsuk Kharbani as president, W Pyngrope as vice president, Pynbhalang Syngkli as secretary, Beautiful Shadap as assistant secretary besides 21 other members, the statement added.
Curfew extended
The night curfew in West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills has been extended till December 22 and December 21 respectively. The curfew carries with it the same prohibitions, restrictions and exemptions.
Unclaimed body
The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, has informed that an unknown male patient, aged 40 years, c/o Polo, Shillong, was admitted in the Male Medical Ward on December 9. The patient expired on December 10. All concerned relatives have been asked to collect the body from the hospital morgue at the earliest, failing which it will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
