Cabinet nod to rural Swachh Bharat Mission

SHILLONG, Jan 14: The Meghalaya Cabinet on Thursday passed a resolution to implement Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) (SBMG) Phase-II, which includes the timely release of state share for the programme and devolution of funds to VWSC for co-financing SBMG components. The funding pattern for the Phase-II will be 90:10 for Northeastern states.
The Cabinet also approved the Meghalaya Housing (Subordinate) Statistical Service Rules, 2020, to regulate the method of recruitment, promotion and service matters of persons appointed to the post of assistant research officer, research assistant and investigation under the Directorate of Housing.
Furthermore, the Cabinet meet also conferred about the recommendations of the standing committee on the interstate council secretariat pertaining to the recommendations of the Punchhi Commission.
During the Cabinet meet, certain ministers also raised their views on select issues.
