Man held for ‘murdering’ wife in WKH

NONGSTOIN, March 2: Police on Tuesday nabbed the husband of a woman, whose body was found lying dead in the house at Umdang village in West Khasi Hills on the previous day.
The husband, Arius Nianglang, had allegedly murdered his wife, Serilis Rongrin (25) and fled the scene.
Police arrested him from a nearby village as he was trying to evade.
Riangdo Police had, on Monday, found the body of the deceased after receiving inputs.
Her relatives and villagers had suspected that the woman was murdered by Arius Nianglang, who reportedly ill-treated her, especially when under the influence of alcohol.
The accused Arius has also confessed to continued physical assault of his wife.
All legal formalities will be observed. The investigation into the matter is under way.
