Inauguration
The Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya will inaugurate the Sub-Divisional Court Building at Amlarem at 11am on March 27.
Excise raids
In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts, and, in the month of February, detected 10 cases with a seizure of 41 litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 31.55 litres Indian-made foreign liquor. In this connection, 6 persons have been arrested under Excise Act.
Appointment
The West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply), in a statement, has informed that two officials, viz. Additional DC Dr Rezina Ch Marak and Deputy Director of Supply Nemson M Marak have been appointed as DGRO and AGRO respectively, under NFSA, 2013, for Tura Sadar Division.
Unclaimed body
West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, Dr MGR Kumar has informed that an unidentified body has been kept at the morgue of Tura Civil Hospital for claiming. According to a statement, a decomposed male body, about 25 years old, was recovered from the garden of one Christwin R Marak of 8th Mile Praharinagar, Tura, on March 23. It has been informed that the deceased was wearing a T-shirt with white check-like camouflage and was approximately 159-cm tall.
Closure
North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner RP Marak has ordered closure of all IMFL retail shops and bonded warehouse in the district from 6 pm of April 4 to 6 pm of April 6 in view of the Assam Assembly Elections.
Basant Utsav

Damage
Three scrapped government vehicles were damage in a fire incident on the premises of the DTO office, Lachumiere, on Friday. Police said that the cause of the fire is still unknown.
