NONGPOH, March 29: The stepfather of a minor girl has surrendered himself before Ri Bhoi Police after it was alleged that he had raped the girl multiple times and impregnated her.
The victim, who is a student of class VIII and resident of a village under Jirang C&RD Block in Ri Bhoi, was about to give birth.
As per sources, after raping the minor girl, the man would threaten to kill her and her mother, if she discloses the matter to anyone.
After the family members of the girl noticed certain changes in her behavior, the girl disclosed the crimes committed by her step father.
On learning about this, the step father attempted to abscond, but later surrender himself to the police.
