Bid to upgrade pvt schools in Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN, April 1: Nongstoin MLA Macmillan Byrsat on Thursday said that he has sent a proposal to the North Eastern Council (NEC) for the upgrade of private schools under his constituency.
Byrsat was speaking as the chief guest during the golden jubilee celebration of Umsaw Pres. LP School, Umsaw.
Nongsiej, during his address, also lauded the efforts of the founder of the school while stressing on the importance of education for all-round development.
He also said that he has held talks with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for the improvement of private schools.
He said a proposal has been sent to the NEC for the upgrade of the buildings of private schools.
During the celebrations, the students performed various cultural activities.
