TURA, April 21: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Mindikgre unit, has petitioned the Controller of Examinations, NEHU Shillong, for reconduct of exams for first, third and fifth semester students of the 2015 batch of Captain Williamson Memorial Government College in Baghmara.
In a letter to the Controller of Examinations, NEHU Shillong, GSU president, Greneth M Sangma, bemoaned that the aforesaid students had missed out on the examinations, scheduled for October 2018, initially due to the bandh called by NESO in the North East.
It was after this the students missed out on the exams again due to poor network connectivity. According to Greneth, another reason due to which the students could not appear in the examination was the nationwide lockdown, which was imposed in view of the outbreak of COVID-19 in India.
Greneth claimed that while other colleges have already reconducted the examinations for the 2015-16 batch students, no such information was given to the students of the Captain Williamson Memorial Government College.
Pointing out that the graduation of the affected students was being delayed due to the issue, Greneth requested the official to immediately issue a fresh notification for the reconduct of the aforesaid examinations.
