Amrut Mahotsav celebrated in NEHU

SHILLONG, April 29: As part of the ‘Bharat ka Amrut Mahotsava’, commemorating 75 years of independence, a lecture series on ‘Geology of North – Eastern India’ was organised on Thursday by the Department of Geology, NEHU, in collaboration with the Geological Survey of India, Northeastern Region (GSI-NER).
NEHU will organise essay competitions, exhibitions and many other activities as part of the programme.
In his inaugural speech, Prof H Lamin, Pro Vice-Chancellor, NEHU, paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
During the programme, Dr J Rajeswar, Deputy Director General, GSI-NER, highlighted the contribution of GSI in the field of geological mapping, mineral prospecting and exploration of critical and strategic resources.
