NONGPOH, May 14: A technical defect has been detected in the Bailey bridge on Shillong Bypass in Umroi due to which the bridge has been closed to vehicular movement for two days.
In forming this in an order on Friday, the Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi, RM Kurbah, said that vehicles have been prohibited from plying over the Bailey bridge on May 14 and 15.
The order mentioned that some planks in the bridge will be replaced during the period of two days’ closure.
