SHILLONG: The Ri Bhoi Students’ Union (RBSU) on Friday has downplayed the arrest of two of their members, Tyngshain Lang Lapang and Richardson Kharphuli who were arrested recently for extorting money from one truck driver, Wallamg Kmen Makri at Ryndangbriew in East Khasi Hills. According to RBSU general secretary Everjoy Nongpluh, it is learnt that the five occupants of the truck were all from Ri Bhoi and it is a fact that the said truck had provoked the two members who were on their way home to Mawlai.

“We have full faith and confidence on both of our members and we demand an immediate unconditional release of our members since both of them have been falsely accused”, he said.
