SHILLONG, June 27: The Shillong Press Club has conveyed its condolence over the demise of yet another journalist of the state, L Morrow Mohon Kharpuri, who passed away on Saturday.
Late Kharpuri was the editor local weekly newspaper, Ka Pyrthei Mynta (The World today).
“Born on January 1, 1939, Bah Morrow, as he was lovingly known by all, was dedicated to his newspaper as he waged challenge after challenge to publish it successfully. He went beyond the call of his newspaper by actively contributing to various publications over the years. His devotion to the job led him to set up his own printing press at home where he published his newspaper and took up commercial printing works. Even till the end he continued pursuing what he loved most — his newspaper Ka Pyrthei Mynta and still wrote articles. For age was just a number,” the Press Club said in a statement on Sunday.
Mourning the loss of “a great soul, learned journalist & scholar”, the Press Club conveyed its sincerest condolences to the bereaved family.
