Donkupar Roy remembered on death anniv

SHILLONG, July 28: The University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) and Education Research and Development (ERD) Foundation on Wednesday paid floral tributes to former chief minister Donkupar Roy on his second death anniversary.
According to a statement on Wednesday, the founder chancellor of USTM, Mahbubul Hoque, recalled the contributions of Roy and said that it was during his tenure as the chief  minister, the USTM Act was passed by the Meghalaya Assembly.
“Since then, Dr. Donkupar Roy Sir had been a constant guiding force, inspiration and support in all the major efforts of USTM. He always remains like a member of the USTM family. USTM will always be indebted to Dr. Roy for his leadership behind the birth of the University,” Hoque said.
