Silver lining for abandoned school in Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN, Aug 5: Forsaken for years, Sibsingh Government Higher Secondary School in Nongstoin has been finally sanctioned a new building at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore by the MDA Government.
Out of the sanctioned amount, Rs 4.47 crore is for the school building and the rest for furniture.
Speaking to media persons, local MLA Macmillan Byrsat, who has been spearheading the demand to revive the school, said that four more government lower primary schools in Nongstoin — Nongkhlaw, Nongstoin, Marskuin and Upper New Nongstoin government lower primary schools — have been sanctioned with an amount of Rs 37 lakh each.
The MLA also expressed gratitude to the state government for the sanctioning of school projects in the region.
