Theft
On December 12, a Global Processing System (GPS) device which belonged to a central Government undertaking was lost in between NEIGRIHMS to Tynring village. Police have requested the concerned person to handover the GPS to incharge Mawdiangdiang OP.
On December 14, two persons, Rostul Ali and Kaddus Khan Ali stole 13 iron grills belonging to Siantimon Kharbithai from Mawryngkneng (EKH). Police arrested the accused persons.
Rape
On December 14 at around 9.30 pm, one Robertus Majhong (44) raped a woman (31) in his residence at Sarikushi, Raid Marngar (RB).
EPIC
Nidhu Kuri of Lyngkhat village (EKH) lodged a complaint at Pynursla police station that on December 14, a group of persons, who claimed to be members of an NGO, directed him to surrender all EPICs. They also threatened to ransack his shop and drive the people out of the village.
Body of driver recovered
The body of missing driver Porimal Nath (33), the driver of truck (AS-01CC-2135), was recovered from Kseh Shiliang, Pasyih-Kyndong Tuber Road (WJH) on December 14.
Baby abandoned
P. Mukhim, Secretary , Niriang village (WJH) lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on December 11 at around 10 am, a lady abandoned her newborn baby in a drain at the village. Later, residents of the village took the baby to Civil Hospital, Jowai for medical treatment.
