Cops, home guards awarded to mark I-Day

SHILLONG, Aug 14: Marking the 75th Independence Day celebrations, the police and home guard personnel of Meghalaya have been conferred with awards in various categories in a bid to recognise the services rendered by them.
According to a statement, while Additional DGP (SB/CID), Meghalaya, Heimonlang Nongpluh, has been conferred with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, SI (Un-armed branch), Police Headquarters, Manoj Singh, has been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
On the other hand, Police Medal for Galantry (PMG) has been awarded to SI (Un-armed branch, SF-10) Ronald Life Snaize Nongrum, U/Lance Naik (SF-10) Prem Bahadur Chetry, Constable (SF-10) Farewell Soshang, Constable (SF-10) Luckystar Lyngdoh Nonglait, Constable (SF-10) Tushar FN Marak, SI (Un-armed branch),Resubelpara, Tony M Sangma, SI (Un-armed branch),Resubelpara, Ahmed Ali Skeikh, and Constable (Armed branch) Dansing Lyngkhoi.
Meanwhile, the Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service has been conferred upon Senior Staff Officer (HG), Directorate of Civil Defence & Home Guards, RP Khongwar, and SI (Meghalaya Secretariat Home Guards) Social Dkhar.
It may be mentioned that the duo is among only seven other recipients from the North East under this category.
