Ms Sharmila Thokchom was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in Biotechnology by North-Eastern Hill University for her doctoral work on Studies on the microbiology of traditional fermented soybean foods of North-East India. She worked under the supervision of Dr SR Joshi, Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
