AIR Shillong announces year-long I-Day programmes

SHILLONG, Aug 23: The All India Radio, Shillong, has initiated a series of programmes to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence. The Regional News Unit of AIR Shillong will join the Jan-Utsav and organise a slew of activities for people.
A quiz programme on India’s freedom movement and its glorious history is being conducted every Wednesday evening during the Garo, Khasi and Jaintia news and on Thursday morning, during the Khasi News till August 15, 2022.
The winners will be awarded an e-certificate and the name will be announced in the following episode of ‘Amrit Mahotsav Quiz with AIR News’.
Another programme titled ‘Ki Mawmer jong ka jingialeh laitluid/ Milestones of the Freedom Struggle’ is on the line for fortnightly broadcast. The programme will be broadcasted in Khasi or English at 9:40 am every third and fourth Wednesday of the month.
Another programme is in the queue under the banner ‘Ka jingiaidlynti ka jingialeh laitluid ba la wallam da ka All India Radio’ (The journey of freedom movement with All India Radio/Azadi Ka Safar Akashvani Se Sang).
Daily broadcast of the Khasi version of the programme is being aired every day at 10:10 am.
