One arrested in Nongstoin murder case

NONGSTOIN, Aug 25: In their mission to nab the criminals involved in the murder of a woman and her maid in Nongstoin, the West Khasi Hills District Police has apprehended a suspect for a link to the case.
West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police HG Lyngdoh has maintained that investigation is not conclusive and refused to disclose the name of the suspect
He lauded the efforts of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by DSP HQ B Kharjana and other officials.
The SP informed that the suspect was arrested in Mairang while he was returning from Shillong.
Source said that the arrested person was the last to make a call to the victims on the fateful night before the murders.
Phlesis Syiem (79) and her maid Maitlynti Lyngdoh Marshillong (25) of Tiehsaw were killed in Nongstoin on Monday night.
