Tributes to Swami Vivekananda

SHILLONG, Sep 11: Vivekananda admirers from Shillong on Saturday paid tributes to Swami Vivekananda to commemorate the 128th anniversary of his ‘Chicago Address’.
During the programme, tributes were paid on the memorial Plaque of Swami Vivekananda at Batti Bazar, Laban.
A statement in this regard informed that the programme was attended by secretary of RKM Shillong Rev Swami Hitakamanandaji Maharaj, monks from RKM Shillong, headman of Laban, members of Sarada Mahila Samiti, Laban, et al.
Swami Hitakamanandaji Maharaj, during the programme, illuminated the lamp and spoke about Vivekananda’s Chicago address and its relevance to the contemporary world.
The headman, on the other hand, focused on life and thoughts of Vivekananda and accentuated the need to safeguard the place after Swamiji’s memory.
