HC seeks reply from Ramdev

Allahabad: The Allah-abad High Court on Wednesday asked Baba Ramdev and his two associates to file replies on a PIL which alleged that derogatory remarks were made against followers of Buddhist religion in a journal published by the yoga guru.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice F I Rebello and Justice Prakash Krishna passed the order on a PIL filed by Buddhist organisations — Buddha Commune (International), Lord Buddha Welfare Society and others.

Apart from Ramdev, his close confidant Acharya Bala Krishna and associate Radhe Shyam Shukla, who had written the impugned article published in May 2011 issue of “Yog Sandesh”, a monthly journal published by the yoga guru, were asked to file their replies. (PTI)

HYDERABAD: Defying Congress leadership, leaders from Telangana region on Wednesday launched a 48-hour hunger strike in Andhra Pradesh, demanding the separate state of Telangana.
