TURA, Oct 10: Occupants of a vehicle on Sunday had a narrow escape after a crane, in an attempt to negotiate a steep incline, rolled down backwards narrowly missing a vehicle coming from behind before coming to a stop on the side of the road.
The incident took place on the Tura-Rongkhon road on NH-51 when the crane was coming from the Rongkhon side towards Tura. Eyewitnesses at the scene informed that the out-of-control crane narrowly missed the vehicle full of women occupants.
The vehicle’s poor brakes are alleged to have been the cause of the accident. Luckily, no one including the driver was hurt.
