Weeklong prog to discuss tools for kids with neuro-devp disorders
SHILLONG, Oct 26: The Department of Biomedical Engineering in collaboration with the Department of Education, North Eastern Hill University, will conduct a programme to disseminate extensive knowledge on ‘Modern Interventional Tools for Children with Neuro-developmental Disorders’, which is being dubbed as International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) APRC Associate School, got under way on Monday. The aim of the IBRO-APRC Associate School 2021, which will continue till October 30, is to provide participants with extensive knowledge to understand the modern interventional tools related to cognitive impairment in children with neuro-developmental disorders and improvement in their functional outcome and quality of life. The programme is being held in close coordination with the Society for Neurochemistry India (SNCI).
Vigilance Awareness Week
SHILLONG, Oct 26: The NEC Shillong on Tuesday kick-started the weeklong observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 on the theme ‘Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity’. A statement in this regard informed that during Tuesday’s programme, the Integrity Pledge was administered by NEC member, (Retd) Air Marshal AK Gogoi. After the pledge-taking ceremony, the workshop/seminar on the theme was also inaugurated. “The weeklong programme will consist of quiz competition, essay writing competition, talk competition and poster-making competition etc,” the statement said. On the other hand, in the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), the teaching and non-teaching staff led by Vice Chancellor, Prof PS Shukla, took the Integrity Pledge as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week. At the Main Secretariat Porch (Rilang Building), Shillong, Chief Secretary, RV Suchiang, administered the Pledge during the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week.
MLA thanks health workers
SHILLONG, Oct 26: Against the backdrop of India achieving a milestone of administering 100 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines, South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai conveyed thanks to health workers besides the district administration, the COVID-19 management teams, Dorbar Shnong, village council, welfare societies, et al., for working relentlessly to contribute in the achievement. Shullai, who also visited a vaccination centre in his constituency, urged people to overcome vaccine hesitancy, and prayed for Meghalaya to achieve its target and become a model state in the region as well as the nation.
