NONGPOH, Nov 10: Police in Ri Bhoi, with the help of locals from Pahammawlein 20 Mile, on Wednesday intercepted one Guwahati-bound tourist vehicle (ML-05J-5714) at Toll Plaza, 20 Mile, and recovered 3 kg of ganja. The driver, along with the vehicle, was later taken to Byrnihat Police Outpost.
It may be mentioned that the locals at Pahammawlein 20 Mile have time and again been extending their cooperation to the police in detecting illegal transportation of banned substances and drugs through the National Highway-6.
The Ri Bhoi Police, too, conducts awareness programmes in the village on drug abuse.
