SHILLONG: BSF troops deployed in Lyngkhat, East Khasi Hills on Tuesday apprehended three Bangladeshi immigrants while they were trying to infiltrate into India

The arrested persons have been identified as Md Zakaria (25), Md Sohel Ahmed (25) and SK Babibulla Zalali (42).

In another incident, BSF troops of Latangtilla, Jaintia Hills apprehended one Bangladeshi immigrant namely Pulin Sinha (36) while he was trying to infiltrate from across the border.

The apprehended Bangladeshi national was in possession of an Indian Voter Identity Card, Indian driving license and ICICI Bank ATM card.

Meanwhile, BSF sleuths have seized 4.5 kg of hemp and other contraband items worth Rs 1.97 lakh in the past 48 hours.
