SHILLONG, Nov 13: The FKJGP on Saturday alleged that as many as 60 shops in the areas of Mawbah and Upper Mawprem are functioning without valid documents.
Informing this, FKJGP Mawprem circle president, Reginald Thabah, said, “We went to enquire about trading licenses for shops in Mawbah and Upper Mawprem, and it was found that many shops do not have any proper document.”
“One particular shop belonged to a person from West Bengal. The question that arises is how did this man receive the NOC and how did the KHADC issue trading license,” he said.
Questioning the KHADC for issuing trading licenses, Thabah said, “The name of one KHADC staff called Deng Nongsiej surfaced in relation to this where the shopkeepers claimed to have paid him money for the renewal but have not received any receipt.”
The FKJGP president also informed that he will call on the KHADC CEM over the matter.
