SHILLONG, Nov 27: North Shillong MLA, Adelbert Nongrum, has slammed the PHE and the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) over the ‘scarcity’ of drinking water in parts of his constituency.
“I am very disappointed with the scarcity of water in some parts of North Shillong and this problem occurs here every now and then,” he said.
Questioning the reason for erratic water supply, he sought a clarification from the PHE department and SMB. “I want to know the reasons for this problem and it is their sole responsibility to look into these issues,” he said, adding that people are now forced to buy water to meet their daily needs.
