Two GNLA in BSF net

SHILLONG: Two GNLA cadres were arrested after a joint operation carried out by the BSF and police.

According to BSF, on February 10 at around 6.30 pm, on specific inputs regarding GNLA activities, the BSF troops of BOP Dangar deployed in East Khasi Hills district launched an operation and apprehended one GNLA cadre from Dangar. The cadre has been identified as Dawin N Sangma ( 40) from Mawsynram.

During the search, the BSF recovered a cell phone without SIM and Rs.670 Indian currency from his possession.

Subsequently on the information provided by the apprehended cadre, BSF troops along with Meghalaya police carried out a joint operation late night on February 10 and apprehended another GNLA cadre identified as Suresh S Sangma (20) from Mawsynram and recovered a cell phone without SIM from his possession.

Militant held with bomb: Police in West Garo Hills arrested a GNLA cadre and recovered a crude bomb from his possession on Monday.

Police said that the intention of the militant identified as T. Sangma was to throw the bomb in a market place.
