Unit formed
With an aim to carry out development programmes and cater welfare services to the people of the area, the Mellim regional unit of the Association for Democracy and Empowerment (ADE) was recently formed. The association elected Traisberth Ch Marak as president, Hoster M Sangma as secretary, Presh S Sangma as vice president, Salgira Ch Marak as joint secretary, Nikjrang Ch Marak as organising secretary, Hilthudhera Ch Marak as publicity secretary, Fortchisberth Ch Marak as treasurer, Rambang Ch Marak as games and sports secretary, Silgra D Sangma as arts and cultural secretary and Lenath M Sangma as environmental secretary besides nine other executive members.

ICAR meet
The 25th Regional Committee Meeting of Indian Council of Agricultural Research involving the eight Northeastern states of India was held virtually. The meeting provided a forum to the agricultural researchers, state government functionaries and other stakeholders to discuss the gaps and priorities of agricultural research, education and extension for the next two years. Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Kailash Choudhary, Secretary DARE and DG, ICAR, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, attended the meeting.
