Shillong, Dec 21: Shillong, Ri-Bhoi, Tura and North Garo Hills won their respective matches on day two of the Meghalaya Cricket Association U-15 Inter District Tournament today.
In Mendipathar, West Khasi Hills District Cricket Association won the toss and chose to bat first, though they could set a target of only 56, which NGH Cricket Association accomplished for the loss of four wickets. Matsrang C Shira was Player-of-the-Match.
In the second game, Tura District Cricket Association also batted first after winning the toss and set a target of 97, which East Garo Hills District Cricket Association fell short of by 28 runs. The Player-of-the-Match was Fernando Barbario Marak.
In Nongkhrah, Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi District Cricket Association beat East Khasi Hills Cricket Association by 12 runs. Ri-Bhoi batted first and posted 112/8 in their 20 overs. Player-of-the-Match was Sanjay Sapkota (23). Nangsan Shaphrang Kynter (3/24) had the best figures. In reply, EKH were kept down to 100/6 in their 20 overs, with Damewanbiang Shadap top-scoring with 38. Sapkota claimed 2/10 with the ball.
Also, Shillong Cricket Association won by 48 runs. Batting first, SCA scored 147/5, with Rudra Singh Rathore making 43. Rohit Pandey struck 28 for East Jaintia Cricket Association but they were restricted to 99/9. Angkit Tamang (3/10) and Md Wahid Ali (3/19) took three wickets each for SCA.
