SHILLONG: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) is all set to support the Congress-led Government in the State to be formed soon, sources said on Thursday.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma also informed that they are holding talks with the HSPDP to join the Congress-led Government.

“We would want the HSPDP to be part of the Government,” Dr Sangma said while talking to newsmen on Thursday.

When contacted, HSPDP president Hoping Stone Lyngdoh admitted that he had a brief interaction with the Chief Minister after the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected legislators.

“He (Dr Sangma) said that he would like to meet me again since he had to rush to Delhi,” Lyngdoh said.

When asked if he is going to join the Congress-led Government, Lyngdoh said he would not have any problem in joining the Congress Government if the Chief Minister can give an assurance that he would try to resolve the inter-State boundary dispute with Assam at the earliest.

“I am ready to work with any party which is serious about addressing the problems faced by the villagers along the inter-State border,” Lyngdoh said.
