SHILLONG, Feb 18: In the wake of recent reports of frequent crime incidents in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has directed the state police to be more vigilant in dealing with crimes in the state and to make no excuses.
“We have already instructed the DGP, police officers and the district administration to be more vigilant on this and make no excuse; be active and pro-active,” said Tynsong.
The deputy chief minister informed that the intelligence wing of the state has also been strengthened. “We are very sure we will be able to stop this kind of criminal activities which is happening almost every now and then,” he added.
He further informed that the district administrations and all the Superintendents of Police and senior officials have been directed to deal with any criminal activities strongly and without any sort of compromise.

(Contd from P-1) It is pertinent to note that the state, in the past few months, has witnessed IED blast, armed robbery and broad daylight assault, and in many cases barring a few, the police are yet to make any breakthrough in arresting the culprits.
