SHILLONG: UDP president Donkupar Roy’s nomination as the Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly might be delayed since the party does not have the required number of 10 elected legislators in the House.

Informing of the development, Assembly Speaker AT Mondal said he was exercising his mind to figure out how the Leader of Opposition can be appointed.

“I am verifying whether any precedent was created in the appointment of the Opposition Leader in the past,” the Speaker said.
