Govt sanctions funds for 272 LP, UP school buildings

SHILLONG, March 18: Education infrastructure in the state is getting a much-needed fillip with the government sanctioning funds for construction of as many as 272 lower primary school buildings since 2019.
The government had sanctioned Rs 10 lakh each for construction of 78 LP school buildings in 36 constituencies across the state in the 2019-20 fiscal while 194 LP school buildings were sanctioned in 49 constituencies in the current fiscal.
The sanction in the current fiscal stands at Rs 41.03 lakh for each LP schools and Rs 89.37 lakh for schools having both LP with UP sections.
