SHILLONG: Langsning FC have almost guaranteed their place in the final round of the Second Division I-League while Rangdajied United are also likely to qualify after both teams won their respective matches in the round robin league in Group A, which were played on Saturday.

Langsning played a 1-1 draw against DSK Shivajains, with the goal for Langsning scored by Daniel Bedemi while Kejan Periera scored for DSK Shivajains.

Rangdajied convincingly defeated Delhi United 5-0 to have a strong possibility of being in the final round.

Langsning now the top Group A with 17 points while Rangdajied are in second spot with 15. Shivajains have 14 points but a poorer goal difference than either of the top teams. Rangdajied will have to win their last match versus Samaleshwari FC on Monday to confirm their qualification.

The goal scorers for Rangdajied were Ho Jun Shin and Babatunde Badmus, who scored two goals each, while Bhola Prasad scored the fifth.

Meanwhile, Royal Wahingdoh FC are almost out of contention of making it to the final round. Royal Wahingdoh, who are in Group B, are in third position in the points with 17 points, behind Mohameddan Sporting (19) and Bhawanipore FC (18).

Even if RWFC win their last match against Josco FC on Monday, they will only move up to 18 points.

They will hope that Mohammedan Sporting defeat Bhawanipore FC in the earlier match on Monday, otherwise their own game against Josco will be a dead rubber.
