NONGSTOIN, April 1: Two persons, viz. the driver and one of the occupants of a truck (ML 06 1139) loaded with logs, lost their lives after it ran off the road and dashed against a boulder, at Mawrusyiar, NH-44E Nongstoin Bypass, on Friday.
There were four occupants in the truck including the driver — Klaspar Kharbani (56) of Mawkohmit, Bomstar Mawnai (32) of Mawblei, Kitboklang Nongrang (46) of Rikhen and the driver, Donboklang Ryntathiang (18) of Mawkohmit village, all regions falling under Mairang Police Station, Eastern West Khasi Hills.
Out of the four, Donboklang Ryntathiang and Kitboklang Nongrang succumbed to their injuries in the accident.
