CM distributes cheques among producer groups

AMPATI, April 4: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma handed over cheques to the tune of Rs 28 lakh to 41 producer groups of Mahendraganj, South West Garo Hills, at Chapahati Ad-hoc Upper Primary School playground, under Zikzak, on Monday.
The funds were provided under Megha-LAMP and FOCUS (Farmers’ Collectivisation for Upscaling Production & Marketing Systems) through Meghalaya Basin Management Agency.
During an interactive session, the CM announced that special focus is being given to ginger cultivation, adding that good quality ginger seeds will be supplied all the way from Kerala for the benefit of ginger growers of the region.
Conrad stated that the MDA is working hard to uplift the life of farmers and those who adopted agriculture as their occupation.
