Inter-School Athletic Meet at Ampati ends

Ampati, May 19: The two-days District level Inter-School Athletic Meet organized by the District Sports Office, Ampati at Ampati Field, witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students from schools across the district.
Overall Champions title was awarded to St. Claret Higher Secondary School, Ampati, who also secured Team Champions titles in both under 14 and under 16 boys categories, while Soudarion Higher Secondary School secured the runners up Champions title and Team Champion in under 16 girls category.
Mother’s Union Secondary School was awarded Team Champions in both under 18 boys and girls categories while Simsang Bokmagre School managed to secure the title of Team Champions in under 14 girls category.
St. Claret Higher Secondary School’s Rakbathjohn S Sangma ( U-14 boys), Chimasamary Ch. Sangma (U-14 girls) and Grimbirthson B Marak (U-16 boys), Leviansha D Marak of Saudarion School (U-16 girls), Gracewin Ch. marak of Mother’s Union Secondary School (U-18 boys) and Chibalsri A Sangma of Nogorpara Secondary School (U-18 girls), were named the Best Athletes of the meet.
The Athletic Meet categorised into under-14, under-16 and under-18 for both boys and Girls, was organized as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Celebration of 50 years of Meghalaya’s Statehood and also Khelo India 2022.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, AVD Shira presided over the function as the Chief Guest on the opening day of the event, in the presence of the District Sports Officer, Saljagring Marak and few other Officers of the district, while the Extra Assistant Commissioners, LD Sangma and SR Marak presided over the function as the Chief Guests on the closing day.
