SHILLONG: Assembly Speaker AT Mondal on Thursday adjourned the Assembly session sine die.

Earlier, the Meghalaya Appropriation Bill (No.II) Act, 2013 was passed on the last day of the Budget Session.

With this Bill being passed, a sum not exceeding Rs 9329 crore has been allocated to different Government departments towards defraying the several charges which will come in course of payment during the financial year ending on March 31, 2014.

The House also passed the Meghalaya Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, 2013 and the Meghalaya Police (Amendment Bill), 2013 on Thursday.

The Budget session, which began on March 14, debated on several issues pertaining to the inter-State Assam-Meghalaya border dispute, alleged encroachment on civilian land by armed forces and a host of other issues.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma presented a deficit budget of Rs 526 crore with no new taxes proposed for the 2013-2014 fiscal.
