SHILLONG, June 14: Officials of the PWD (Buildings) are likely to visit the Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati (IITG) to finalise an agreement permitting the institute to investigate the collapse of the central dome of the under-construction Assembly building at Mawdiangdiang on May 22.
“We are planning to go to IITG to sign the agreement. It is only then that the institute will start the probe,” a PWD official said on Tuesday.
According to the official, the department has received an official communication from IITG after the work order was issued last week.
He revealed that IITG has finalised a team to carry out the probe and will be completing its task in two months.
