Two persons convicted under NDPS Act

SHILLONG, June 15: Two persons were convicted of an offence under Section 22 (C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) 1985, by Special Judge NDPS, NA Khan, on Wednesday. The duo have been identified as Sangte Paite and Lalmingliana.
Reportedly, they were apprehended by the police during a search conducted on February 22, 2013, at IIM junction, Nongthymmai, wherein 2,178.72 gram of psychotropic drugs, viz., Spasmo proxyvon, was seized.
A case was earlier registered and investigated by the then Sub-Inspector Simseng A Sangma, who was in-charge of the Anti Narcotic Task force (ANTF), East Khasi Hills.
