SHILLONG, June 26: The Mawryngkhang Trek at Wahkhen, East Khasi Hills, will remain shut till August for repair works after it sustained damage in the recent downpour.
The incessant spells recently not only washed away a bamboo bridge at Wahrew but also triggered heavy landslides on the way to Mawryngkhang.
The Tourism Promoters Trekking Society Wahkhen, which took the decision to shut the tourist spot, has appealed to the public to wait in patience until the damage is repaired.
