Truck hits two vehicles; 3 hurt in Ri-Bhoi

NONGPOH, July 11: Three persons were injured on Monday as a speeding truck rammed into two vehicles on National Highway 6 at Mawdiangum, Ri-Bhoi.
According to sources, the truck (ML 11 8124) was headed towards Shillong from Guwahati when the vehicle lost control and hit a Bolero (ML10 C0886) on the way and then jumped over the divider to hit another stationery truck (UP 22AT 1640) parked on the service road at Mawdiangum.
The injured persons — Bantei Kynjing (22), driver of the speeding truck, Ononto Majhong (21), the driver of the Bolero, and Ravi Kumar, the co-driver of the parked truck — were shifted to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for treatment by locals who were present at the site of the incident.
