Assembly polls: Retired govt official in fray

NONGSTOIN, Aug 7: The then Additional Sub Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO) of West Khasi Hills district, Remington G Momin will be the face of the ‘Rambrai-Jyrngam Constituency Independent Party’ in the assembly polls next year vying for the Rambrai-Jyrngam seat.
Momin has taken voluntary retirement to contest the elections from Rambrai-Jyrngam Constituency.
He is a resident of Mallangkona, West Khasi Hills, and has also served as a church leader in Baptist Church.
The Rambrai Jyrngam Constituency Independent Party on Saturday organised a public meeting at St. John playground, Rambrai, to welcome Momin into the party and declared him as their candidate from Rambrai Jyrngam constituency.
