 SHILLONG: St Mary’s Higher Secondary School continued their dominance by winning two gold medals on the second day of the East Khasi Hills District Inter School Athletic Meet on Thursday.

St Mary’s won their first gold medal of the day after Nisha Syiem won the Under-17 discuss throw. The silver medal went to Didaskhem Surong of H Elias HSS while Grace Fellida Nongrum of St John HSS won the bronze.

Shailja Chettri earned St Mary’s second medal after winning the U-19 3000 metres event. School mate Balarisha Tyrniang finished second while Alvawachi Sangma of Kiddies Corner took the bronze.

Joanna Marak of Kiddies Corner won the gold in the U-14 shot put while Iadarisha Nongsrung of H Elias and Iadarihun Jyndiang of St Mary’s won the silver and bronze respectively.

Among the boys, Tunyawat Promboon of Kiddies Corner won gold in the U-19 high jump. The silver went to Medanhanbor Suiam of Kiddies Corner while Donkupar Mawkhon of St Anthony’s HSS claimed the bronze.

Kynpham Swer of Raid Laban bagged the gold in the U-19 5000 metres. Elvinson Dkhar of Kiddies Corner won the silver while Bradley Mawthoh of St Anthony’s took the bronze.
